← Back to Image ToolsHow to Resize an Image
Choose images
Select JPG, PNG or WebP files, or drop them above.
Set dimensions
Choose pixels or a percentage and review each image’s target dimensions.
Resize and download
Check the results, then download individual images or the batch as a ZIP.
Resize an Image by Pixels
Enter a width or height in pixels. The fields start with the first image’s original dimensions. With aspect ratio locked, the last dimension you edit becomes the common width or height for the batch; every image keeps its own proportions. Unlock the ratio to apply the exact width and height to every image. Review the target dimensions beside each preview.
Resize an Image by Percentage
Choose 25%, 50% or 75%, or enter a custom percentage. Each image is calculated from its own original dimensions every time: 100% keeps the original dimensions. Results are rounded to whole pixels, with a minimum of one pixel per side.
How Aspect Ratio Works
Aspect ratio is the relationship between width and height. A 1920 × 1080 image becomes 960 × 540 when its width is halved with the ratio locked. Unlocked pixel dimensions may stretch the image. Percentage mode always scales both dimensions together.
Resize vs Compress
Resizing changes pixel dimensions. Compression changes how image data is encoded. Smaller dimensions often mean a smaller file, but file-size reduction is not guaranteed. For unchanged dimensions, use the compressor linked above.
Does Resizing Reduce Image Quality?
Downsizing discards detail, while enlargement estimates extra pixels rather than recovering detail. JPG and WebP use 90% quality by default; Advanced quality lets you adjust it. PNG encoding is lossless after resizing, but resampling still changes pixels. Metadata is not copied and browser color handling may affect appearance.
Privacy and Browser-Based Processing
Your images are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to our server. Temporary homepage transfers are removed when retrieved. Refreshing clears your selection and results, so download your files before leaving the page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is IMGVERO Image Resizer free?
Yes. Resize and download your images without paying or creating an account.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Images are processed locally in your browser. Homepage transfers use temporary browser-local storage and are removed when retrieved.
Can I resize JPG, PNG and WebP?
Yes. Still JPG/JPEG, PNG and WebP images are supported. Animated PNG and WebP resizing is not supported.
Can I resize multiple images?
Yes, including mixed formats. Select up to 20 images, each up to 20 MB, with 100 MB of inputs and 100 MB of results per batch. Inputs and outputs are limited to 16 megapixels and 8,192 pixels per side. MB means 1,048,576 bytes. Device memory may impose lower limits.
What does Lock Aspect Ratio mean?
In pixel mode, changing width calculates height, and changing height calculates width, using each original image’s proportions. Unlocked mode applies the exact width and height to every image and may stretch it. Percentage mode always preserves proportions.
Can I make an image larger?
Yes, by enabling Allow enlargement within the output limits. Enlargement is disabled by default. Making more pixels does not restore missing detail.
Does resizing reduce image quality?
Downsizing removes pixels; enlargement estimates new ones. JPG and WebP encoding can introduce artifacts. PNG encoding preserves the resized pixels, but resizing itself changes them. Metadata is not copied, browser color handling can affect appearance, and output files may be larger.
Does resizing change the image format?
No. JPG remains JPG, PNG remains PNG and WebP remains WebP. PNG and WebP transparency is preserved.
Can I use it on mobile?
Yes, in modern browsers supporting image decoding and canvas encoding for your format. Use smaller batches on devices with limited memory. Download results before refreshing or closing the page.
