Why Convert WebP to JPG?
JPG is useful when an app, editor or upload form does not accept WebP. This tool keeps the decoded image dimensions and saves a standard .jpg file. JPG and JPEG are the same format, so WebP to JPEG conversion produces the same type of image.
Keep your original WebP if you need its transparency or animation. Converting to JPG does not guarantee a smaller file.
WebP vs JPG
| Feature | WebP | JPG |
|---|---|---|
| Compression | Lossy or lossless | Lossy, with adjustable quality |
| Transparency | Supported | Not supported |
| Animation | Supported | Still images only |
| Typical use | Web images and graphics | Photographs and broad compatibility |
WebP Transparency and JPG Backgrounds
JPG cannot store transparent pixels. The converter fills transparent areas with your chosen color and blends partly transparent edges against it. White is selected by default. Check the preview before downloading, especially around logos or cut-out images.
JPG Quality
90% is a useful starting point. Lower quality usually creates smaller files but can introduce visible compression marks. Higher settings retain more detail at the cost of file size. JPG output is not lossless, and conversion cannot recover detail already missing from the source.
Privacy and Browser-Based Processing
This WebP to JPG tool processes selected files locally in your browser. No image is uploaded for conversion. Homepage transfers are temporary and are removed when retrieved. Refreshing clears the working selection, so download your results before leaving the page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the IMGVERO WebP to JPG converter free?
Yes. Convert and download your images without paying or creating an account.
Are my WebP images uploaded to a server?
No. This converter processes your images in your browser. Homepage selections use temporary browser-local storage, and the transfer is deleted when the converter retrieves it.
Can I convert multiple WebP files?
Yes. Select up to 20 WebP images, each up to 20 MB, with 100 MB of input files per batch. Images can be up to 16 megapixels and 8,192 pixels per side. Completed JPGs are limited to 100 MB per batch. Here, MB means 1,048,576 bytes. Device memory may impose lower limits.
What happens to transparent WebP images?
JPG does not support transparency. Transparent and partly transparent pixels are blended with your selected background color. White is the default.
Does converting WebP to JPG reduce quality?
JPG uses lossy compression, so some detail may change. Converting cannot restore detail already lost in a compressed WebP. Even 100% JPG quality is not lossless.
Can I choose JPG quality?
Yes. Quality starts at 90%. A higher setting usually preserves more detail and creates a larger file. Changing quality or background clears existing results so you can convert again with the new settings.
Can I use the converter on mobile?
Yes, in a browser with WebP decoding and canvas support. Use a smaller batch if your device has limited memory. Download your results before refreshing or closing the tab.
Are animation and metadata preserved?
No. Animated WebP images become still JPGs using the first frame decoded by the browser. The tool exports visible pixels rather than copying original metadata. Browser color handling may affect the result.
